Matthew Baptiste-Cerra
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Michigan State University. I then added two Masters of Education to round out my knowledge of learning. Being a teacher has been a plan of mine for quite my entire life – I just took a detour through the corporate world before getting here. I was taught a love for learning and sharing that knowledge from a young age.
I spent the last year teaching 7th grade Science and Mathematics. On our team I am known to be a bit of a “mad scientist” type. Previous years students can attest to my willingness to dive into a topic and have them help build something to demonstrate a particular concept or idea. I am looking forward to an exciting time doing the same again this year. I am a fan of old Steam Locomotives and I have a long running fascination with Far East culture, in particular the Japanese Shogunate and the Chinese Three Kingdoms era. When not at school I enjoy time with my family and trips to Disneyland and Seaworld.
